Eligibility Criteria for Genetics & Animal Breeding
1. Candidates applying for Animal Genetics & Breeding course must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) subjects in class 10+2 in school from any recognized board of education.
2. Candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% of marks from the PCB subjects.
3. The minimum percentage of marks in PCB subjects will be comparatively low for the OBC, SC/ST candidates.
4. Candidates must have also cleared national-level or state-level entrance exams as required by the institution or university offering the course.
Admission Process
1. Colleges publish notice of admission on their website from June when most Indian universities would have finished degree exams.
2. Candidate to apply for each college, as each college considers each mark as the cut-off mark.
3. Some private colleges and deemed universities perform their counselling process by conducting their university-level entrance exams.
4. Some colleges require a minimum of 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination.
5. Candidates who qualify for the test are called for an interview before the final seat allotment.

I started my research and found out that there are four major career pathways: genetic counsellor, geneticist, and geneticist.
This brings us to the development of a new branch of science, popularly referred to as "genetic career". Genetic career involves new and upcoming careers in genetic research, engineering, as well as counseling. Those who are inclined to choose a career in the field of genetic research would be learning how the human genome functions while at the same time looking at the possibilities of new genetic breakthroughs that would revolutionize the treatment of various diseases.
To pursue a career in genetics, individuals typically need at least a bachelor's degree in genetics, biology, or a related field. Advanced degrees (master's or Ph.D.) are often required for research and higher-level positions. Additionally, gaining practical experience through internships or research opportunities can enhance career prospects. Continuous learning and staying updated on the latest advancements in the field are essential for success in genetics careers.
